Personal note:
This image is from my #julissamora100dayaustin project. The inspiration for this drawing comes from the Peacocks at Mayfield Nature Preserve.
This place is truly magical. It feels like you're sitting inside of a Claude Monet painting because no matter where you stand, you will be surrounded by gorgeous lily ponds. And, what really made this park super memorable to me were the free roaming peacocks on the property. Thanks to the Mayfield-Gutsch's for turning their property into a breath taking botanical garden and for leaving it to the City of Austin when they died in 1971. What a way to leave a legacy and give back to the community.
